[GETTING TO "KNOW"]

Question:

What is the distinction between desire and intention? Is intention a nebulous version of desire, that is, desire without a specific route laid out by one's thought process?

Answer:

Desire is nebulous. To desire is defined by Webster as: "to long or hope for." Intention is defined by Webster as: "determination to act in a certain way; resolve." Next in the sequence is to commit, defined by Webster as: "to carry into action deliberately."

You raise another issue in your reference to one's thought process. First in the sequence is thinking. This is followed by adding feeling to the thought, thus giving the thought power. We call a thought connected to a feeling a belief. Next come intention and finally, commitment. These are all activities we engage in as humans. As the God Presence, we know. When we reach commitment to open to the God Presence, we know we are truly ready to accept who we really are.

When we feel the commitment to open to the God Presence, the Universe brings us the perfect support to proceed with the opening process. This process includes reclaiming the power we have hidden in our beliefs that we are less than who we really are.

You asked a conceptual question and I have given a conceptual answer. The question and the answer will be more meaningful to you if you go into the feelings each of the concepts bring up for you. That is where the power is.
